How do you stop a runaway ascent?
Runaway ascents happen because the lungs expand as a diver ascends. Since going up too fast can be detrimental to a diver, slowing down your ascent is very important. In order to release the expanding air in your lungs, keeping your airway open is very important. You should also let out some air from your BC.
